You bet'cha! It's time to kick into high gear! The next two weeks will bring us nearly to the finish line of Van Go's renovation!
I can hardly contain my enthusiasm.
Okay... so, you know me well...
I CAN'T contain my enthusiasm! I'm dancing here. (But no, I'm not posting any photos of that!)
But I will shout a hearty, "Woo Hoo! We're nearly there."
In fact, as I type this, my other half is meeting with our friend Stuart for the installation of the final countertop in our RV. That's right. The kitchen counter will be installed today!
And Bingo! Tim just texted to say the counter IS INSTALLED... In fact, he also sent two photos.
Yup. We aim to bring you "up-to-the-moment" renovation news here at "Easel on Down the Road." Ha!

And yes. Your eyes do not deceive you. That countertop isn't what I originally selected.
I suspect that I haven't yet told you about our latest renovation hiccup. You see, last week,

I had to scramble a bit. It seems that the original quartz slab that I selected for all of the RV counters had a hairline crack in it, and unfortunately it split as Stuart was cutting during the bathroom counter fabrication.
So, I was back to square one as far as the selection of the kitchen countertop material was concerned. However, among Stuart's treasures, I found this lovely stone that has beautiful, warm marble veining!
In addition to this interior addition, we have made significant progress with our exterior renovation. Our mechanic friend has installed our solar panels on the roof of our vehicle (pictures of that to come in another post), and the exterior "basement" has been repainted (as per my description in my immediately previous post, here)
I obviously have photos of the newly painted RV "basement" to share with you today. Here, have a look-see...
Depending on the angle and light, the color leans more blue or charcoal gray. I love that. I can hardly wait to complete this "curb appeal" project. I'm so ready to mix paint for my refresh of the original pinstriping and graphics.
But wait I must. In fact, I won't be able to repaint the pin-striping on the vehicle for at least another week since Tim will be driving it to our friend's cabinet shop on Thursday!
And that is something to truly celebrate!
Despite all the obstacles that COVID-19 has created, the cabinets are now complete and ready to be installed.
To say that I am thrilled would definitely be an understatement! I cannot wait to be able to share photos of the cabinets with you... I may even break down and create a video tour of the interior of Van Go for you here.
That is...if I can figure out how to load video to this blog.
In the meantime, here's the projects on our list (after this week's cabinet project is complete) that we hope to finalize before we officially "dedicate" our new "home-away-from-home"/art studio.

Definitely almost there! See you on the other side of renovation life very soon!
